研究问题
This study aimed to investigate the association between the human telomerase reverse transcriptase gene (hTERT)-MNS16A polymorphism and cannabis or synthetic cannabinoid use disorder (CUD/SCUD).
方法
The study included a total of 228 participants, comprised of 147 CUD/SCUD patients and 81 healthy controls.;Analysis of the log-transformed T/S ratio indicated a significantly greater degree of LTL shortening in the patient group compared to the control group (p = 0.001).;Among patients, psychotic symptoms and violent behaviors were notably more prevalent in those with a T/S ratio > 1 compared to those with a T/S ratio < 1 (p = 0.022 and p = 0.011, respectively).
核心结论
Genotyping of the hTERT-MNS16A variant was performed through polymerase chain reaction (PCR), while relative LTL was measured using real-time PCR.;For analysis, the T/S ratio (telomere, T) was calculated in relation to a single-copy gene (S), allowing LTL to be expressed as the relative T/S ratio.;Analysis of the log-transformed T/S ratio indicated a significantly greater degree of LTL shortening in the patient group compared to the control group (p = 0.001). ‖ 结论:In summary, although the hTERT-MNS16A variable number tandem repeat polymorphism does not appear to increase susceptibility to CUD or SCUD, LTL shortening is evident in patients with these disorders.
