研究问题
Through a review of the PubMed-indexed scientific literature, we sought to determine whether there is scientific evidence to support the use of MSCs and exosomes to reverse tissue and organ aging, improve function, and increase longevity and overall health in the absence of specific disease states.
方法
From this search, we chose a total of 34 different preclinical studies using stem cells and/or exosomes that were performed in mice, rats, or macaques.;In one study [15], clinical-grade human umbilical cord-derived MSCs (hUC-MSCs) were administered to two mouse models of age-associated sarcopenia (AAS): SAMP8 (a senescence-accelerated model) and D-galactose-induced mice.;In this study, the authors discovered that the EVs may aid aged skin by suppressing mTOR/S6K signaling, which plays a critical role in oxidative stress-induced cell senescence and aging [33].
核心结论
The young stem cell-transplanted mice exhibited a 16% increase in lifespan.;The results showed that the BMSC-transplanted mice had an average extension of lifespan that was 33.4% greater than that of control mice. ‖ 结论:Both stem cells and exosomes have been shown to significantly rejuvenate healthy organ systems in preclinical studies, restoring their function to a more youthful state.
