研究问题

Human evidence is predominantly observational, and longitudinal and interventional validation remains limited.

方法

In PubMed, representative keyword combinations covered: We included human cross-sectional, longitudinal, and intervention studies relevant to the topic, as well as animal, cell, enzymatic, and computational studies.;Records were initially screened by title and abstract, followed by full-text assessment.;Zotero was used to manage and deduplicate records, followed by manual checking for duplicates.;Multiple reports from the same cohort were selected according to their relevance to the specific point and the outcomes reported.

核心结论

The World Health Organization projects that the number of people aged 60 years or older worldwide will increase from 1 billion in 2020 to 1.4 billion by 2030 ().;Immune regulation and inter-organ metabolic interactions are also associated with age-related inflammation and changes in organ function.;Age-related features of the gut microbiota vary with health status and are associated with barrier function, immune regulation, and host metabolism (). ‖ 结论:Few human studies have assessed these processes together within the same study.

局限

Human studies have primarily identified observational associations between microbiota-associated metabolic features and barrier function, inflammation, and brain, liver, cardiovascular, and skeletal muscle phenotypes.;These findings should be interpreted in the context of relatively healthy older adults, people with frailty or multimorbidity, and patients with age-related diseases; findings from disease settings cannot be attributed directly to physiological aging.;Longitudinal studies that characterize health status and combine measurements of metabolite production and exposure with assessment of key confounders could clarify the temporal relationship between metabolic changes and functiona

对本项目的价值

★☆☆☆☆ 菌群是可远程部署、成本最低的干预变量,但因果性与个体化响应仍是主要瓶颈。设计 multi-omics。
