研究问题
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease characterized by demyelination, neuroinflammation, and progressive neurodegeneration in the central nervous system [1,2].
方法
All experimental procedures were approved by the SUDAM experimental animal ethics committee with decision number 2022-23 dated and 24 June 2022.;Animal Information: 46 adult male Wistar rats were used in the study.;Adult male Wistar rats, aged 10–12 weeks and weighing 220 ± 20 g at the start of the study, were used.;Housing and Acclimatization: The rats were housed in standard polypropylene cages under controlled environmental conditions (temperature: 22 ± 2 °C; humidity: 55 ± 5%; 12 h light/dark cycle) following a 2-day acclimatization period prior to the start of experiments.
核心结论
In our study, the highest MDA and lowest GSH levels in hippocampal tissue were obtained in CPZ group (Group 3) and CPZ group fed a zinc-deficient diet (Group 4) (p < 0.05).;Hippocampus NOGO-A and ZnT3 Gene Ex] The highest NOGO-A gene expression in hippocampus tissue was obtained in the CPZ group fed a zinc-deficient diet (Group 4) (p < 0.05). ‖ 结论:This study demonstrates that dietary zinc levels significantly influence hippocampal oxidative stress and molecular responses in a cuprizone-induced toxic demyelination model.
局限
This research is particularly significant as it represents the first study to elucidate the relationship between dietary zinc levels and hippocampal SESN2 gene expression within a cuprizone-induced toxic demyelination model, indicating that this regulatory axis warrants further, more detailed investigation in future studies.
