1IntroductionAgainst the backdrop of an increasingly aging population, whether pension care resources can be rationally distributed and coordinated across regions has become a critical issue for improving the accessibility and equity of urban pension care services.;In megacities, the spatial effectiveness of pension care resources depends not only on where resources are located, but also on whether districts are connected through transportation networks, service referrals, institutional collaboration, and resource sharing.;Spatial justice concerns whether older adults in different areas have equitable opportunities to access services.
方法
We construct an evaluation system across three dimensions—institutional care capacity, home-based and community-based care capacity, and medical support capacity for pension care—to assess the overall development level of pension care services in each district.;The study therefore follows a progressive analytical sequence of “identifying regional service capacity-measuring potential interdistrict linkages-analyzing overall network structure.”2.2Main developments in spatial research on pension care servicesExisting research on the spatial organization of pension care services has focused first on service accessibility and has gradually moved beyond static geographic distance toward more realistic transport and behavioral conditions.;Second, transport conditions are usually treated as factors affecting residents’ ability to reach services, while their role as interdistrict spatial resistance shaping the strength of cross-district linkages has received less attention.
核心结论
Research on community-based integrated care (28) and long-term care utilization (29) further indicates that individual characteristics, family support, and institutional capacity jointly shape pension care needs.2.3Research gaps and analytical frameworkExisting studies have provided substantial insight into the distribution of pension care facilities, spatial accessibility, resource efficiency, and supply–demand matching.;Haizhu District is low in all three dimensions, and the gap between pension service supply and the demand of an aging population is more pronounced.Overall, the development of pension care services in Guangzhou shows a multi-center, functionally differentiated spatial pattern.;Overall, the spatial network of pension care services in Guangzhou has formed a structure with Baiyun District as the main core, Tianhe District as the sub-core, Liwan District and Nansha District as important supporting nodes, and other regions participating hierarchically.5.4.2.2.2Closeness centralityOut-closeness centrality reflects the convenience of establishing pension service links between a region and other regions through direct or indirect paths.
局限
Less attention, however, has been paid to potential relationships across administrative districts and to the structure of the resulting urban network.;Traditional gravity models often use geographic distance as a measure of spatial impedance; however, cross-district connections for pension care services are also influenced by public transportation travel time, transfer costs, route connectivity, and age-friendly travel conditions.;However, the absolute magnitude of the subsequent gravity-model estimates depends on the adopted scale.
