研究问题

Additionally, pulmonary inflammatory processes may contribute to ventilatory limitations and reduced exercise tolerance [32], reinforcing the relevance of evaluating pulmonary biomarkers alongside functional and respiratory outcomes. We hypothesized that a 12‐week RT program would improve pulmonary function (FEV1, FEV1/FVC, PEF, and FEF25%–75%), respiratory muscle strength (MIP and MEP), functional capacity (1‐min sit‐to‐stand), and handgrip strength in the study population.;Therefore, any observed changes in oxygen saturation should be interpreted within a functional physiological context rather than as clinically relevant desaturation events. Therefore, this study aims to investigate whether RT can significantly improve pulmonary function and immune response in a group within the study population.;This test provides important information on respiratory muscle function and allows evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions aimed at improving respiratory performance.Absolute MIP and MEP values (cmH2O) were used for statistical analyses because the primary objective was to investigate changes in respiratory muscle performance following RT within and between groups [29], rather than to establish clinical classification based on predicted values.2.6.3.

方法

Additionally, pulmonary inflammatory processes may contribute to ventilatory limitations and reduced exercise tolerance [32], reinforcing the relevance of evaluating pulmonary biomarkers alongside functional and respiratory outcomes. We hypothesized that a 12‐week RT program would improve pulmonary function (FEV1, FEV1/FVC, PEF, and FEF25%–75%), respiratory muscle strength (MIP and MEP), functional capacity (1‐min sit‐to‐stand), and handgrip strength in the study population.;We also expected RT to be associated with changes in systemic and pulmonary inflammatory markers, including reduced IL‐6 and TNF‐α and increased IL‐10 and Klotho concentrations.;Study Design, Ethical Approval, and ParticipantsThis randomized, controlled, parallel‐group trial evaluated the effects of RT on pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, functional capacity, and systemic and pulmonary inflammatory responses in older adults without recent participation in structured exercise programs.

核心结论

In addition, no participant demonstrated clinically significant bronchodilator responsiveness.Analyzed parameters included FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC ratio, PEF, and FEF25%–75%.;Participants received standardized instructions and a demonstration from a trained evaluator.;For plasma Klotho, the Group × Time interaction remained significant after exclusion of the four prespecified extreme observations (ATS = 152.607, p < 0.001), compared with the primary analysis including all observations (ATS = 98.55, p < 0.001).Overall, the adjusted analyses further supported the between‐group effects observed for MIP, MEP, and selected plasma biomarkers, whereas the between‐group comparison for the 1‐MSTST was attenuated after adjustment.4.

局限

However, airway‐specific inflammatory assessment may provide additional insights into local pulmonary responses that are not captured by systemic markers alone, particularly in aging populations exposed to chronic inflammatory burden [30].;Additionally, pulmonary inflammatory processes may contribute to ventilatory limitations and reduced exercise tolerance [32], reinforcing the relevance of evaluating pulmonary biomarkers alongside functional and respiratory outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to investigate whether RT can significantly improve pulmonary function and immune response in a group within the study population.
