研究问题
Dementia is the leading cause of senile disability worldwide, currently affecting more than 50 million individuals, an estimate expected to triple by 2050, posing a significant challenge to global health [1].
方法
Peripheral blood samples from MCI (n = 11) and AD (n = 11) patients were collected at the Regional Neurogenetic Center (ASP CZ), Catanzaro.;Written informed consent was obtained from all participants for blood sample collection and the use of clinical data.;Clinical and family histories, neurological examinations, and neuropsychological tests were assessed for each patient [43,44,45].;Diagnoses were based on clinical and neuropsychological assessments; amyloid, tau, and neurodegeneration biomarkers (CSF or PET) were not available for any participant, and the cohorts were therefore not characterised with respect to underlying aetiology.
核心结论
结论:In conclusion, these findings identify miRNAs in L1CAM-enriched EVs as candidates for further investigation as minimally invasive markers in cognitive impairment.
局限
This study is cross-sectional, so group differences cannot establish within-individual change or progression between stages.;Future studies on glial-derived EVs may reveal additional key biomarkers.
对本项目的价值
★★☆☆☆ 脑老化是最大未满足需求,也是终点最难量化的领域;biomarker 与认知读数选择最敏感。最大样本量约 11;设计 Meta 分析、横断面。
