研究问题

Population ageing is a major global public health challenge.;Evidence in older adults remains more limited, but available work supports its potential relevance to physical fitness and functional assessment in later life [].;However, these constructs are not necessarily central determinants of every physical or mental health outcome.

方法

Participants were recruited from community-based senior organizations and long-term care institutions.;Participants were eligible if they were able to understand study information, provide written informed consent, complete interviewer-administered questionnaires and safely participate in functional assessments.;Cognitive and physical eligibility screening was conducted by trained members of the author team, who had the professional qualifications required for the physical and questionnaire-based assessments.;Screening was based on structured interviewer-administered interaction, direct observation during recruitment and testing, and evaluation of whether participants could understand questions, follow instructions and safely perform the FMS and handgrip procedures.

核心结论

Institutionalized participants were significantly older than community-dwelling participants (81.10 ± 7.82 vs. 72.44 ± 6.17 years, p < 0.001).;Community-dwelling participants reported more frequent nature exposure, higher WHO-5 wellbeing and higher FMS scores than institutionalized participants.;Institutionalized participants reported higher religiosity and greater symptom burden. ‖ 结论:Second, the sample size was modest for cluster and network analyses, and these results should be interpreted as exploratory and hypothesis-generating.

局限

This study examined healthy ageing as a multidimensional, cross-sectional and exploratory construct in community-dwelling and institutionalized older adults.;Therefore, the present findings should be interpreted as evidence of a modest bivariate association that was attenuated in multivariable analysis, not as evidence of an independent or causal effect.;In the present cross-sectional study, these should be regarded as plausible intervention hypotheses rather than demonstrated effects.
