研究问题

Age-related yellowing and mechanical deterioration of teeth are well recognized in clinical dentistry, yet their interrelationship and underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood.

方法

This study aimed to clarify the associations among dentin color, mechanical properties, and advanced glycation end-product (AGE) accumulation in aging human dentin.

核心结论

In this cross-sectional study, buccal-lingual cross sections of extracted human premolars and molars obtained from donors aged 16 to 77 y were analyzed.;Dentin was subdivided into 4 anatomical regions (outer/inner crown and outer/inner root).;Yellowness (b*) was quantified from optical microscopy images, and Young's modulus was determined using position-resolved nanoindentation.;Pentosidine concentration was quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography as a surrogate marker of AGE accumulation. ‖ 结论:This study demonstrates that dentin yellowness is significantly correlated with increased stiffness in aging human dentin and is more closely associated with stiffness than pentosidine accumulation alone.

局限

未能获取全文,具体设计细节、失访与统计学处理无法核验。

对本项目的价值

★★☆☆☆ 衰弱/肌少症是少有的已有监管认可终点的老年综合征,是临床转化的最短路径。
