研究问题
However, further studies are needed to determine their incremental value beyond SA alone.;Thus, various studies have been conducted to investigate the correlation between SA levels and different types of CVDs ( Fig.;Although the physiological functions of albumin are well reported, the optimal SA level in elderly patients with CAD remains unclear.
方法
In an epidemiological cross-sectional study, 5,879 elderly Chinese patients (mean age, ≥ 65 years) were included.;A cross-sectional study was conducted from 2009 to 2018 by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey involving 17,303 participants.;A prospective observational study was conducted involving 50 patients (mean age, 61.50 ± 9.77 years) with ACS from May 2021 to December 2021.
核心结论
These findings suggested that SA levels may provide additional prognostic information in elderly patients with stable CAD [ 45 ].;SA levels were significantly associated with the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs; hazard ratio (HR), 1.74 per 1 g/dL decrease; 95% CI, 1.34–2.26) and all-cause mortality (HR, 1.74; 95% CI, 1.30–2.33).;Overall, these findings indicate that increased SA levels are associated with better prognosis and survival among elderly patients with CAD; however, this association should be interpreted with caution, as the available evidence is primarily derived from observational studies.
局限
The etiology of CVD is considered to be multifactorial and cannot be described by a single factor.;However, low serum albumin (SA) level remains a prognostic indicator in patients with CVD [ 10 – 12 ].
