研究问题

However, preference, treatment acceptability, adherence, and self-management readiness were not directly measured in the present dataset.

方法

The China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) is a nationally representative longitudinal survey of Chinese adults aged 45 years and older and their spouses, with demographic, socioeconomic, health, physical-function, lifestyle, and biomarker data.;The analytical framework first estimated a multidimensional health-burden network, then used network-informed indicators for LCA, followed by analyses of factors associated with profile membership and planned robustness analyses.;Reporting followed the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) statement; the completed checklist is provided in the .;Participants were eligible for the 2011 analysis if they were aged 60 years or older, reported physician-diagnosed arthritis or rheumatism, and reported knee pain.

核心结论

The final classes were named the lower overall health burden profile (n=93, 12.42%), psychological-perceived health burden profile (n=312, 41.66%), and multidimensional high-burden functional limitation profile (n=344, 45.93%) (, and ).;The lower overall health burden profile had comparatively low functional, psychological, perceived-health, and non-knee pain burden.;The psychological-perceived health burden profile showed relatively preserved ADL and IADL function but substantially higher depressive symptoms, poorer self-rated health, and greater non-knee pain burden than the lower-burden profile. ‖ 结论:These findings provide a rationale for multidimensional assessment that incorporates functional capacity, psychological status, perceived health, pain burden, comorbidity, sleep, and social context.

局限

This study employed a multidimensional network approach integrated with latent class analysis (LCA) to characterize the heterogeneity among older adults presenting with a symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (KOA) phenotype.;First, functional limitation, psychological symptoms, perceived health, multisite pain, metabolic factors, and comorbidity burden collectively formed an interconnected burden structure.;Second, three distinct profile classes were identified: a lower overall health burden profile; a psychological–perceived health burden profile characterized by relatively preserved activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental ADL (IADL) function but marked elevations in depressive symptom

对本项目的价值

★☆☆☆☆ 衰弱/肌少症是少有的已有监管认可终点的老年综合征,是临床转化的最短路径。队列:CHARLS、China Health;设计 cross-sectional。
