BACKGROUND: Suicide rates are highest among older adults globally; however, non-fatal suicidal behaviors-critical precursors to mortality-remain under-quantified in community settings. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize the global prevalence of suicidal ideation and non-fatal suicide attempts among community-dwelling older adults.
